To celebrate the centenary of Zoo Lake, dignitaries from Johannesburg gathered together to plant 100 indigenous trees. Adv. George Bizos was the chief guest and he planted the first tree.

The trees and the catering were donated by Moyo Restaurant at Zoo Lake. City Parks provided the expertise and labour.

The day was a tremendous success. It brought together role-players from different conservation bodies and interested parties to celebrate this great occasion.
