Shamwari Colombar/Sauvignon
Blanc 2004
– R 25 per bottle. A
white blend for a change
from the Breede River
Valley. This area is
renowned for its white
wines. The valley is
surrounded by the
Langeberg and
Riversonderend
mountains. There are
marked variations
between the soils and
micro climates in the
different side river
valleys. By exploring
these natural and
viticultural differences
the winemaker (Albert
Basson) can compose a
distinctive wine. The
2004 harvesting season
was sunny but cool,
which lead to well
balanced, healthy
grapes.
Great for picnics and
meals alfresco, at 12%
vol alcohol you can
afford to open two. This
wine has pleasant aromas
of honey, pear and mint.
Green melon on the
palate, with a lingering
aftertaste of refreshing
lime. Ideal with herby
pasta and delicate
flavoured fish.
