situated right next to the border gate with Lesotho. The trail consists of two single day

outside ablution facility

Accommodation
Basecamp at Camel Roc consists of a
sandstone built small house with bunk beds and mattresses, a walled off area with tents
provided, a kitchen area in the main hut with gas stove and fridge and outside ablution
block with hot showers and flush toilets. A spacious lawn area with open braai provides
ample space to relax in. |

The trail starts off up the
mountainside almost immediately and passes some interesting rock outcrops |

Some of the route can be
difficult for those that suffer from a fear of heights |
The views from the top are well
worth the energy expended on getting there |

The trail follows the cliff edge
for some distance affording the hiker some spectacular views of the surrounding mountains
and down to the farm below |
Along
the mountain tracks there are a wide variety of flowers to be seen |
The second day of the Camel Roc hiking trail
traverses the lower slopes of the mountain before descending to the river.
A stiff but
exhilarating climb to the top of Mushroom Rock is well worth the effort. Along the river
are some lovely rock pools to cool off in. |
